What is a Personal Retirement Scheme?
A Personal Retirement Scheme (PRS) is a contract through which you pay your personal contributions to build up a fund of money. The benefits may be in the form of a lump sum payment and/or a pension for life.
These contracts are governed by RBA regulations and the Income Tax Act (Cap 470) under which valuable tax advantages are provided. Subject to certain limits your contributions, investment growth and benefits will all be tax-free.
The contract remains yours and the amount invested continues to grow whether you change jobs or become unemployed, ensuring that you will not suffer in retirement.

- Self sponsored- An individual establishes the scheme for self.
